안녕하세요...

여러번 올라온 주제인것 같은데... 답변이 별로 없는것 같았습니다!

이리 저리 찾다가 우연히 Buy.com에서 TRENDnet TEW-424UB (현재 $8.99) 사용기에 OSX에서 사용했다라는 이야기이가 있어서 제 구형 아이맥 (imac G3 500)에 한번 해볼려고 방금전에 샀습니다... ^^ 아마도 $100에 육박하는 다른 랜카드나 에어포트를 대체하기 좋을듯합니다... 드리아버는 10.3 과 10.4가 있군요... 제 구형 맥은 10.2인데... 어쩌나...

그리고 이리 저리 찾아보던중에... ㅋㅋㅋ

아래 글을 찾아냈습니다!!! 와우~~~ 오면 바로 해보고 결과물을 올려드리도록 하겠습니다!!!

아래 글을 보자면 ZD1211 칩을 사용한 모델은 아래의 설정 변경으로 사용 할 수 있게 됩니다. 물론 수신 감도 변화 라든가 일부 옵션은 사용 할 수 없다고 누가 그러더군요... 하지만... 저렴한 가격으로 사용 할 수 있다는것으로 도전해볼만 하리라 생각합니다... 일부 모델은 한국에서도 팔고 있는 모델인듯하니 확인해 보시길... 아... 리눅스에서도 된다 합디다... 아래설정을 보면... ^^

I just found the original Zydas Drivers, and tried them with a Sitecom WL-113. As the ZD1211 sticks are cheap, this might be of interest:

ZD1211 USB Stick with Zydas Drivers in Win,Linux, or Mac OS X:

First get your Driver:
http://www.zydas.com.tw/downloads/download-1211.asp

Then you need the vendor and product id numbers. See if your stick is in the table below.
If not, try google with the name of your Stick.
If nothing helps, start a Knoppix CD (or any Linux), open a shell, and plug the Stick. Enter dmesg and the numbers will be displayd.

Mac OSX:

Install the driver, but DO NOT RESTART. Open a terminal, enter su and root password, and edit:

/System/Library/Extensions/ZD1211Mac.kext/Contents/Info.plist

with vi (or another editor).
Near the end you'll see:
EthernetUserClient_ZD1211
idProduct
13313
idVendor
1414
the first number 13313 is decimal for 3401 hex and the second number 1414 is decimal of 0586. So convert your numbers to decimal umsetzen, and see if they are already there, else enter them. For the Sitecom you would change the last entry to:

and watch out, the first number is the product, the second the vendor ID. It is the other way around in the table.
Save file, log out, and restart the Mac.
If you can't save the file, your not root. If you don't know the root password, enter 'sudo passwd root', enter your pasword, and then the new root password. Don't forget to tell root his new password

Linux:

unpack the driver in /usr/src. In the drivers directory, edit src/zdusb.h. Find:

The enter the correct kernel version into Makefile.
Enter make, then you're done. The device name is 'eth...'. You need a kernel source in /usr/src.

OSX 버전에 상관없이 성공하셨으면 좋겠습니다.
전에 제 맥미니에 달려고 Belkin에서 나온 것을 구입한 적이 있었는데 결국 포기하고 환불했던 기억이 나네요.
팬서용 드라이버는 제공이 되었으나 타이거에서는 온갖 삽질이 필요했었죠. 삽질 끝에도 큰 재미는 못봤고..
암튼 기대가 됩니다. 사용기 기다리고 있겠습니다.

혹시나 해서 윗글에 더 글을 올리고 있었는데...

그쪽 자료실에서 다운 받고 보니 10.3, 10.4 다 지원하더군요... 저희집에는 10.2, 10.3 10.4 가 다 있는 상황인지라... 10.2에 설치 해야 하는데... 헐... 아마도 않될면 그넘을 10.3으로 업 하던가 해야 겠습니당... ㅋㅋㅋ

제 기억으로는 유니텍에서 나왔던,
초저가형(!) 랜카드가 ZD1211을 사용했던 것 같습니다.

한국에서 구입하시기에는,
가장 저렴한 가격대의 USB무선랜카드가 아닐까 하는데...

누가 사용해보시고 평해주시면...

p.s.1년 전에 사용해서 사실 기억은 가물가물합니다.

제 기억에도 유니콘과 지오가 그것을 사용하는 것으로 알고 있습니다.
가격도 일반 쇼핑몰에서 2만원 초반대까지 하락한 것으로...
아참 근데 이거 인텔맥에서는 안되었던 기억이 있습니다. 너무 급하게 실험한것이라
신빙성은 부족합니다만 인텔맥에 사용하실려면 권장해드리지 않습니다.

그러나 현재 발매된 인텔맥에는 전부 에어포트가 장착이 되어 있군요...^^;
