이런 나온지 얼마 되었다고 또다시 루머가 꼬리를 잇는군요..
내년 2월내지는 3월에 다시 새파워맥이 나올지도 모른답니다.

맥루머에 따르면 내년 2월에 90nm PowerPC 970 Processor PowerMac이 나오며 2.5-2.8GHz 로 나온답니다. 그리고 나서 파워피씨 980으로
간다고 하는군요....이번에 나온 1.8기가 듀얼 고려해 봐야 할거 같군요.

The PowerPC 980 Processor is a rumored chip to be coming from IBM as a followup to the PowerPC 970. Just as the PowerPC 970 is based on the Power4 Processor, the PowerPC 980 is rumored to be based on the upcoming Power5 Processor.
First hints of a new derivative chip came from this extensive roadmap of the PowerPC, Apple, Motorola and IBM from November 2002. At that time, the PowerPC 970 had been announced by IBM but not yet publicly endorsed by Apple. Apple later announced PowerPC 970 based PowerMacs in June of the following year (2003).

Today, Appleinsider reports that the PowerPC 970 will max out at 2.6GHz while the Power 980 will come due in Q3 of 2004 and bring the PowerMac up to and beyond 3.0GHz. The 980 is reportedly a 90nm chip and may be branded as the G6. Appleinsider also comments on updates to the subsystems of the upcoming PowerMacs offering significant performance gains.

This "980 @ 3GHz" timeframe was echoed by a detailed report from July 2003. In that report, Apple and IBM were said to be working on parallel development of the Power5 and PowerPC 980. That report also claimed that the 3GHz PowerMac would not arrive by way of the 970 -- which was said to top out at 2.6-2.8GHz, while the 980 was expected to start at 2.6-3GHz (from the July report).

A subsequent report noted that Apple was already given PowerPC 980 samples in October, and also made predictions about 90nm 970 based PowerMac updates in February at 2.5-2.8GHz. This latest report also offered significant details regarding cache, SPEC scores, and bus multipliers on the as-yet-unannounced PowerPC 980.

Without any tangible releases from these rumors, it's hard to gauge their accuracy, though the information appears to be consistent.

그 루머까지 맞는다면... 애플에서 여럿 기밀누설로 잘리겠는걸요 ;;;;

좋아해야 할지.. 너무 빨라서 정신없어야 할지... @_@

이번달 맥월드 보신분계신가요? 애플의 쥐5와 alienware머신 두개, 그 말많던 애스론 쓴 폴리웰과 함께 벤치마크 테스팅했는데....한분야 빼고 (애플 컴프레서를 이용한 엠펙 코딩) 애플 쥐5 듀얼 2, 1기가 메모리.... 전멸했습니다. 비록 근소한 차였지만....

솔직히 기존 펜4를 쓴 에어리언웨어 한테도 조금 처지더군요. 값은 다들 비스무리했습니다만... 피씨쪽에서는 왜 64로 가야 하는지 조금 헷갈려 할것 같습니다. "256 ati 9800 pro만 끼우면 게임은 다 되는데..." 제 생각은 아니구요.

그나마 듀얼 1.42로는 반정도 경쟁이 되니 성능향상이 있었다고 보는건 무방하겠습니다. 맥월드는 맥을 좀 쓰는 사람들이니까... 근데 전에 피씨월드에 난 내용하고 거의 비슷하더군요. 워드 프로세서의 오토서머리를 벤치마크 항목에 넣고 뭐 그런걸 보면... 그간의 비판을 조금 편집에 반영한듯 하더군요.

엠피쓰리 코딩에서 맥이 느린건 조금 의외이긴 했습니다만....

그러므로 2.5나 2.6으로의 성능향상은 좋은 일로 보입니다. 애플에서 기밀누설로 잘릴것 같진 않군요.

그나저나 이런식으로 피씨에 경쟁하다 보면 알북이가 느린게 크게 부각되는건데 어쩔려는지 모르겠습니다.

뽀대하나만큼은 끝내줍니다만... 나사하나하나 박아 놓은거 보면 명품인줄은 알겠더군요. 파북업글이 상당히 시급한 애플입니다.

그와중에도 애플스토어는 바글바글 거렸습니다....
그런걸 보면 왜 걱정해야 하나...그런 생각도 들지만 매일매일 하는것 같은 그 애플스토어의 강연같은걸 보면 애플의 주고객은 역시나 놋북사용자 같습니다. 실제적으로 내년 2-3월까지 애플이 쥐5 1.6의 한 70%정도의 성능을 못낸다면 조금 실망스럽겠습니다.

보면 다른 부분은 전혀문제될게 없고 프로세서/보드 이정도에서 결판이 나겠습니다. 기가빗 인터넷, FW, USB 2.0....그리고 고질적인 이야기지만 dvi 어댑터정도는 공짜로 껴주던지 애플 시네마 디스플레이의 포트를 dvi로 바꿔줬음 합니다. 지금 있는게 mini dvi맞죠? 자기네 제품 사라면서 이걸 변환하는데 99불 내라는데는 애플밖에 없을겁니다.

그리고 미디어 피씨에 대항해 티비튜너를 아이맥정도에는 넣어줬으면 하는 생각도 있습니다.
