Powerlogix, G3 800MHz ZIF 업글카드 발매 예정

지금껏 베이지 G3타워, 요세미티(B&W G3), 또는 PCI 기종의 G4 파워맥(Yikes)를쓰시는 분들께는 꽤 괜찮은 소식입니다. 이 기종들은 ZIF (Zero Insertion Force)라는 형태의 도터카드를 사용하는데 업글은 G4 500메가 까지가 최고 였습니다. 그래서 제가 전에 사용하던 요셈두 G4 500까지 밖에 못올렸는데 이번에 Powerlogix에서 G3 800Mhz 업글카드를 내놓을것이라고 맥월드 샌프란시스코에서 발표했더군요. 또한 더 빠른 G4 ZIF의 가능성도 연구해 보았지만, 이론상으로는 가능하나 메인보드와 G4칩과의 비호환성으로 인해 실용성이 떨어진다고 판단했답니다.
